Meetings Mean Business is an industry-wide coalition to showcase the undeniable value that business meetings, trade shows, incentive travel, exhibitions, conferences and conventions bring to people, businesses and communities. By rallying industry advocates, working with stakeholders, conducting original research, engaging with outside voices and more, the coalition brings the industry together to emphasize its importance.
With the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions (MICE) space in India set to triple over the next two to three years, the sector is poised for robust growth.
According to the estimates of the industry analysts, Indian MICE sector size is pegged at Rs 25,000 crore, growing at a rate of about 8 per cent year over year.
With more than 10 new MICE venues coming up in various parts of country and the expansion of existing venues being undertaken, space is set to triple.
Besides the industry, Union government and several state governments have been actively trying to set up more MICE venues to draw both business and leisure travellers, helping the industry grow.
India is a ripe source market, with a socio-economic environment that tends to encourage overseas travel among its citizens. Decades of stable governments, coupled with sustained economic growth, increasing aspirations, a growing middle class and rising number of High Net-worth Individuals, global exposure and sizeable disposable income across segments have contributed to an increasing number of Indians travelling overseas. In 2018, over 28 Million Indians travelled overseas. The Outbound tourism market has grown at an average of 12-15% over the last decade.
